Trainer

BRETT DE HOEDT

Brett de Hoedt founded Hootville Communications in 1999 after a career as print journalist (Sunday Age, New Idea, Truth) television publicist (Seven Network) and radio presenter (3AK, MyMP).

Brett has developed websites, shot online videos and written eBooks on eMarketing. (See a selection below.) He has a YouTube channel plus a large and growing following on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. His training sessions are energetic and interactive.

Brett knows all sides of the media game. As a producer, journalist and presenter he chose which stories got covered and which didn’t. His company Hootville Communications has secured its clients 1000+ media hits since 1999. He has trained hundreds of people – most juggling many roles – to gain their own coverage.

It was Brett’s knowledge of the media which saw him invited to keynote at Al Gore’s Climate Reality Training Corp event. Over 500 people from a dozen countries attended. Several scored media coverage as a result of Brett’s presentation on the same day. If he’s good enough for Al Gore perhaps he can teach you something too.

Over 20 years he has trained WWF, Australian Conservation Foundation, Yooralla, Netball Australia, Australian Red Cross, YMCA, The Smith Family, Leading Age Services Australia, Australian Swim Team and hundred more. Brett will demystify media and open your eyes to the possibilities that you’re missing - literally – every hour.

The former reporter and radio broadcaster has trained CEOs, board members, professional athletes, scientists, young people with intellectual disabilities, people with mental illness, priests, sex workers, people for whom English is a second or third language, asylum seekers and celebrities. He can probably handle you and your team’s needs.
